Thoroughly clean your furniture before storing. Refer to the tags and cleaning instructions that came with your particular piece of furniture.

We recommend lining the floor of the storage unit with thick plastic sheets which will both help protect your furniture and make it a lot easier to slide heavy furniture from one point to the other.

A lot of furniture can be disassembled and put back together. If this is the case, we recommend taking your furniture apart before placing in long term storage. For example, disassemble beds
and tables, and wrap table legs in blankets or bubble wrap. Protect corners and edges using bubble wrap or cardboard. This makes it easier to fit all of your furniture into the storage unit,
and keeps it better protected over time.

Put any screws, nuts, bolts, locks and keys in a sealed plastic bag and tape it to your furniture. This will make it a lot easier to put the item back together in the future.

Cover your furniture with sheets or drop cloths to protect it from dirt, dust and moisture while it is in storage. Be sure to NOT use plastic on your wooden furniture because it will trap moisture
which can cause damage. You can however, use plastic wrap on top of fabric-covered furniture for protection.

Lastly, do not place heavy items on top of a mattress as it will cause damage over time.
